a new beginning and
all possibilities exist.
imaginal cells resting
inside their cocoon.
resolve is not needed
in this primordial goo.
just rest, trust,
and patience.
one cell,
two,
then many.
a you unlike any other.
the imaginals know
what to do and…
what
not
to do.
the newness of you will
emerge when ready.
a chrysalis falling away…
exposing, releasing.
imaginal you,
the end result assured.
more you than ever before.
more fully your Self
more fully alive.
this you, not you,
yet perfectly you.
the past is done.
your cocoon, self-imposed,
no longer needed.
take flight.

Take flight! Yeah! I feel as if that’s what I’m doing since reading The Untethered Soul which I spoke about today at LFI. I’d love it if you joined our 7-month, once-a-month book discussion about it Sandi! Check it out okay! Judging from what you wrote here and what you write every time, you will love the book!

Lori Love the title, will definitely check it out! Send me the details for the hang-out please.
Take flight, indeed!
Sandi Amorim Lori I’ll email you Sandi!
Yay!

As I grow in my coaching practice and spiritual life, I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about when you say this:
this you, not you,
yet perfectly you.
Sabrina at MyMiBoSo It’s hard to be patient in that space, and yet that’s the only thing to do. Surrender and let the imaginal cells do their job. xoS
As someone stuck in the goo, waiting on the dang imaginal cells to hurry up and take shape, I can tell you how irritating I’m finding it. But since resting and waiting seems to be the only way through it, I’m going to take your post as permission to grab a glass of wine, cruise Facebook, and read something trashy until some sort of direction seems to form.
Ellen Berg Oh yes, those of us who lack patience are greatly challenged by this imaginal process! For me it’s time to wave the white flag and surrender to the goo 😉
Lovely Sandi, just lovely. xxx
I know that goo-ey place well. And struggle though I may, it’s usually when I let go that the transformation happens. Dang resistance just doesn’t help! Love this post Sandi.
And I heard a story about someone who took pity on a butterfly struggling to get out of its cocoon, and gave it a helping hand. Trouble is, the butterfly needs to struggle out and coat it’s wings with whatever it needs to fly – that’s how it gets strong enough to survive. This one with the ‘helping hand’ died.
We need to go through that process to fully come to life. It helps me to remember this – I’m another impatient one.
Vicky White I just read this yesterday, “It’s the caterpillar’s job to resist the change, and the butterfly’s job to become stronger because of the resistance.”
Made me feel so much better about the struggle.
Sandi Amorim Vicky White Well that puts it in perspective! Just need to make that leap when the time’s right.
hi Sandi, wonderful post – poetic and powerful about how we all have the ability to make this transformation in our lives. I think if we knew we would come out of the process stronger, before we start, the easier the transformation will be:) But we don’t know that and filled with apprehension and fear often. but we do come out strong and more authentic – a better version of ourselves. Instead of resisting change, we should seek more of it in our lives for the growth it brings.
Vishnu’s Virtues Mostly we do come out stronger so you think we’d begin to trust the process 😉
