Yes. That’s ultimately what it all boils down to. My friend has the quote, “You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf,” as a part of her email signature. Yes, the waves will come, but you can choose to drown in them or learn to surf in them. Which sounds more fun? More productive? No one feels brave. The difference between most people and the people we label as brave is that the brave ones take action anyway.
Ellen Berg Yes! What kept coming up as I sat with this post was this one indisputable fact – we always have a choice. We may not like it or want to be responsible for it, but we always have a choice.
Truth. So often we don’t want to be reminded that we ARE choosing – every moment. It is empowering but can be frickin’ scary…but I trust that in the end the scary, powerful, fulfilling path is going to LIGHT up my soul more than any “playing it safe.”
