BURNING QUESTION:
What would you like to stop doing?
STOP
Stop beating yourself up with your shoulda/woulda/couldas.
Stop backing off just as you gain momentum.
Stop playing that damn comparison game.
Stop waiting for permission to do what you want.
Stop holding back because you need more training, experience. . . . . . .fill in the blank.
Stop brushing off compliments.
Stop focusing on what others say is important.
Stop adding to the to-do list that’s never getting done.
And please, STOP waiting for someday.
START
Start celebrating each and every win.
Start fanning the flames of your desire.
Start loving. . .truly, madly, deeply.
Start owning your gorgeous, luscious self.
Start reaching out, stretching up and growing inwards.
Start breathing – big, deep, belly expanding breaths.
Start sharing your enthusiasm and watch it go viral.
Start saying what you want, often and with abandon!
BURN, BABY BURN
For that’s what you were born to do.
You know it. I know it.
Hell, we all know it.
And wouldn’t it be great if we all cut the crap and burned like a roman candle?

The title says it all: “Stop. Start. Burn.” This is the kind of post I need to print out, frame, and LIVE. Live the words therein. Every single day. Thank you for your beautiful articulation. It’s always a pleasure coming here for encouragement and renewal. 🙂
Thanks Otiti! This kind of post usually shows up as a conversation I have with myself. What I love is how so many others can relate to it!
xoS
I smiled reading this, especially that last line. Today I will live my brilliance and BURN!
You burn brightly naturally Daniel 🙂
Love this list. Would add stop settling for mediocrity and start believing you can do it.
Love that addition Ali! Along the same lines, I’d now add ‘stop second-guessing yourself’
Hallelujah, you said it Sandi, I’m burning with you and laughing 🙂
Burning and laughing simultaneously? Oh how I’d love to be there with you 🙂
Sandi, I loved your lil newsletter in my inbox…I can jive with the S.A.D. stuff, definitely! But, more than that, I can jive with STOP…I am proud to say I’ve made huge gains in this category. Just keep swimming swimming swimming : )
Thanks for saying so Elana! The newsletter (cuz I don’t know what else to call it) is new and I’m just following my gut with it! And your comment leads me to this…
Stop treading water. Start swimming 😉
I am going to STOP letting the voice of doubt rationalize my procrastination and START living boldly, freely, from my heart!
Amen sista!
To answer your question — yes, it would be great if we all burned like Roman candles. We could set our world and our souls on fire. I want to stop being falsely modest and playing small and start allowing myself to be seen as the powerful woman I know myself to be.
That calls for a chorus of Hallelujah Carol 🙂
Ahhhhh… I breathed a nice deep, relaxing breath as I read this. It felt like a breath of fresh air, and I felt something open inside me, a new determination to really go after the life I want and live it my way. To truly cut the crap and BURN! 🙂 Thank you.
Jess, reading your comment I felt shivers of anticipation! Burn, baby, burn!
Each individual line speaks directly to me and would be empowering on its own; together it is a simple manifesto to inspire full creative expression…all-out, no excuses. Thank you 🙂
Love that you see it as a manifesto for full creative expression! Just lit a fire in my soul!
And please, STOP waiting for someday.
Some day never comes.
And please, STOP waiting for someday.
Some day never comes.
