My ears delight in the sound of the surf.

waves reaching toes, Kihei, Maui

My skin tingles as it welcomes the waves that have travelled so far.

My eyes, they glow with thanks for the beauty around me.

My body. . .breathes deeply,a long sigh of appreciation for the warmth of the sun

My heart beats time with the source of it all.

  1. Maui looks wonderful! How cool that you are blogging from there! I Love it!
What makes my senses come alive?
The complete and utter silence in the deep woods in winter! A robin arriving back too soon (didn’t it fly south?) and sitting in the snow next to the pond, my husband making plans for my Birthday celebration, checking in with me to see what I want, realizing I am living my dream now and reminding myself to remember…Lori

    1. Love the silence of the woods too Lori! When I stop to notice there is so much that makes me come alive, but in the busyness of life it often gets overlooked. Maui has given me time and space and my senses are overwhelmed with joy!

  2. Love the toes and hibiscus photos especially!  I want to be there!!!!

What makes my senses come alive is a walk through my beloved Maine woods with her strong and steadfast boulders of granite to ground me, her cushions of moss to soften my footsteps, her delicate ferns to tickle my legs, and the giant up-ended roots of a fallen pine where the fairies come to dance.

    1. Carol, you would absolutely love Maui. Mother Nature’s call to pay attention is so loud here. Everywhere I look, every time I breathe deeply and I bowled over by the beauty around me.

  3. Went to Maui last year – loved it. Just got back from Kauai last week (now my favorite island). Thanks for helping to keep the memories of my trip alive and feeding my day dreams for our return trip. Is it too early to book another vacation?
