A Letter from the Future

Dear One,

Watching you the past few months brings up tears of happiness and pride.

And I am proud of you, for it would have been much easier to quit.

outdoor market area, Santa Fe, New Mexico

You, however, are not a quitter.

You persist.

“Persistence guarantees that results are inevitable.” – Paramahansa Yogananda

You commit with your whole heart and then do what it takes to follow through.

Just one of the many things I love about you.

Your passion and persistence are like arrows to my heart.

The way you weave your feelings into words. . .well, just slay me now.

I’m crushing on you.

Lovin’ you up, all the way from the future.

  1. Ohmygosh Sandi! I would write a letter to myself from the future but you have just said EXACTLY what I wish I’d have had the wisdom to say to me!

    1. LoriMy trick is to write it as if I’m writing to someone else. Somehow it has more impact when I create it from there. It’s more loving and generous and makes such a difference when it arrives in my inbox. http://www.futureme.org/ makes this exercise simple and lovely.

      1. Sandi Amorim Lori Sandi I visited the link (thanks!) and decided to write another letter to my future self. I thought I’d selected 2014 but when the verification email came I saw that it said 2015. Now, we’re talking about serendipity over at LFI and I can’t help but wondered if I’ve just participated in, or experienced some wisp of serendipity. We shall have to wait a couple of years to find out!

        1. Lori That will be so awesome! I can hardly wait till then!
I just wrote another to myself as well, but for a month from now. I like to do it as a regular practice 🙂

  3. Dear Sue,
I just want to let you know how much I appreciate all the time, energy and resources you have invested in my well-being here in the future. Every day, I think about all that you were doing back in 2013 and the difference it has made for me now. You are sowing seeds that have grown into beautiful flowers, and you did it all on faith, not even knowing exactly what you were planting. It’s a spectacular garden, all the more glorious because its roots are set in your trusting vision of what you wanted to create. Keep planting those seeds!
    Love ya,
    Sue

    1. Sue Mitchell This vision brought tears to my eyes. A spectacular garden created in faith. May we all experience the sweetness of that image my friend.

  4. Dearest Sabrina,
You are exactly where you are meant to be…so gently ease into life more and simply TRUST it.
Finally, at the end of the day, remember that you are LOVE, you are LOVED, and you LOVE others beautifully…everything else is icing on the cake.
    I love you.

    1. Joshua Wilner/A Writer Writes It’s a great exercise, and the FutureMe app makes it even cooler! It’s always such an awesome surprised when it arrives in my Inbox!

  5. When I coach people, I have them write a letter from their future self, and it is a powerful exercise.  I think it’s about time I did it for myself!  And now there is a handy dandy website to make it all more realistic and doable.  Ya gotta love the internet.
And I have to love how much Future Sandi appreciates what you are doing now, Sandi.  As well she would, because you are up to some marvelous, stretching things!
