Relentless Got Me Here

re·lent·less

– showing or promising no abatement of severity, intensity, strength, or pace

Synonyms: determined, dogged, grim, implacable, unyielding, unflinching, unrepenting

Damn! Doesn’t sound very appealing does it?

But being relentless about something you want with your whole heart and soul?

Hell yeah, sign me up!

That’s what I’m talking about.

Being a force to be reckoned with, a dog-with-a-bone for something that burns from inside, keeping you up at night.

I have been called relentless.

Ugh. At first it made me cringe.

It triggered that primal “Will they like me? or Will they kick me out of the tribe?” fear.

But…then I got to thinking…and realized this relentless part of me has generated a lot of satisfaction and joy in my life.

This dogged-unflinching-unrelenting part has got me here, to my 100th blog post.

That may not sound like a big deal, but here’s the thing…

My lizard brain and I went through a helluva growth spurt these past eight months, and I couldn’t have done it without you.

  1. Love the proof here under your literal and figurative roof, SandiD! (You know how to get me, too, all this talk of respecting the power of our lizard brain, in all it’s glory.)

(Would we have our lizard any other way, either? At our peril. If we made a list of the things that we couldn’t get done without it, like your example here…)

And 15 hours!! Guess you’re not messing around!! when you say you’re going to help, considering what just one hour of your time is worth.

P.S. Re your quote, I just got an e-mail that it’s National Goof Off Day, and the person who sent it to me made the point that when you love what you do, you can feel every day that people are trying to feel on Goof Off Day. Something tells me that you’d tell E.B. White that because you’re relentless, you found a way to do both.

    1. Ahh dearest Karen…what is there for me to say except Thank YOU. I am so lucky to have connected with you early on in this adventure. You, more than most, have witnessed my relentlessness. Thank you accepting that part of me so generously.

  2. Congratulations on 100 blog posts, Sandi! And I LOVELOVELOVE the quote from E.B. White. Maybe I’ll paint that & put it over my workspace… 😀

      1. Thanks Sandi. It’s always a great day when you receive love. And right back atcha. I’ve spent my time with you this past year having fun, upping my game and basking in the starburst. Colliding with you has been a blessing!

  4. Go Sandi, Go Sandi…It’s your birthday, it’s your birthday….

  5. Hi Sandi,
I LOVE the E.B. White qoute! I totally relate to being “relentless”. At same time, one of the things I’ve become relentless about is having a good time while I grow my business and change the world. Learned how to do this from the good people at Zappos.com. It’s made a HUGE difference.

    Thanks for being awesome!

    1. Paul,
Having a good time is essential to making relentless work! It’s like one of my favourite quotes that says a master in the art of living makes no distinction between their work and their play 🙂
