Fuck the Lizard Brain

My lizard brain is saying:

Don’t do it! Don’t blow your momentum. . .

  • with a silly post
  • by swearing
  • lots of other crazy, lizardy chatter

Fuck the lizard brain.

Since launching this blog life has been intense. Taking on the 31 Day Build a Better Blog challenge added fuel to the fire already burning and it was getting HOT!

So my guy and I packed a picnic dinner and headed down to the beach with our books.

When things get intense, tough, challenging, it’s easy to forget how good life is.

And it IS good.

Really, really good and I don’t want to forget that while I’m burning the candle at both ends.

So today’s question is simple and profound.

What do you love about your life?

  • I love having dinner at the beach.
  • I love that this is my blog and I can do whatever I want.
  • I love that following my instincts lead to yesterday’s post and it felt so good!
  • I love that my 11 year old nephew has been inspired to start his own blog.

Over to you:

What do you love about your life?

Right now, exactly as it is.

Tell me.

  1. Ok, you know I’m partial to the F-bomb. Then, I’m also a fan of philosophical sites like shitmydadsays. (If they bleeped all the bombs – so many varieties- on that site I think there would be 2-4 words left per tweet. Not the same at all. Do you know the site? I’m pretty sure I can recite some of the tweets by heart. Yes I am proud of that.)

So what I love is that we have words that so eloquently express how we feel. 😉

But now I’ve got to go calm the Itas down. Would you look at that. All that effort it must have taken to cover their ears, but they managed.

Hope you and your honey had a picture perfect (it’s ok, even the always have my back Itas are groaning at that) day at the beach!

  8. My 11-year-old son wants to start a blog too! And I’m excited for him, too! Although I’m thinking I may have to do a little more moderating than I’m used to. I don’t want any weirdos picking on my kid. Anyway, great post and I think you just have to stay true to yourself and post whatever feels right. It’s your blog, after all.

    1. Thanks Michelle! Isn’t it cool to think of these kids starting at such a young age? Anything really is possible and I love that about life!

  10. I love that I took off this week to go on a zoo field trip with my son and he couldn’t stop saying how excited/happy he was that I was there. And how happy he was to have me sit next to him while he ate his lunch when we got back to the school. Sometimes it is that simple.

  18. I love snuggling up with my beautiful Siamese cat, Mishka. Especially on a long, rainy day. I also love writing my screenplay, usually with Mishka in my lap. 🙂

      1. Which one? The one I’m working on or the 10 or so others I have plans to work on. LOL! The one that I’ve started (and nearly completed) is a parody of a parody of a parody. Hopefully, I can get some of my filmmaker friends in New Orleans to shoot it for me when it’s finished. Right now, that’s on hold until the 48 Hour Film Project (next weekend) is over.

  22. I love my house and all its wackiness. I love that it’s not going to be as hot as it has been the last month. And I love that I get to hop on a plane tomorrow to see my grandson and … best part of all … bring him back home with me on Sunday for four day!

And I love your site, too! :o)

    1. Kris,
I love that I discovered your blog awhile back.
I love that even though we have very different styles, I usually resonate with what you write.
I love that you are bold and ballsy some days, vulnerable and open other days.
I love that you responded to my email.
